Tanzania national parks and reserves.
Tanzania has more land devoted to national parks and game reserves than any other wildlife destination in the world, from pristine coral reefs to remote wildlife reserves. Serengeti is probably the most famous of the 14 parks, it rises from 920 m. up to 1850 m. above sea level and the landscapes vary from the spectacular long and short grass plains in the south, to the central savannah, the more hilly wooded areas in the north and the extensive woodlands in the western corridor. The Serengeti plains are home of millions of animals like wildebeest and zebra, gazelles, jackal, hyaena, crocodile, hippopotamus, buffalo, giraffe, elephant, topi, leopard, lion, cheetah and hundreds of different species of birds. May-June is the time of the great annual wildebeest migration, together with zebra.
